EHS Coordinator Safety

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; College and/or Trade School a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years safety work on similar projects.
  • 30 Hour OSHA Construction safety class or equivalent within the last 5 years an average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Plan, coordinate and administer the duties of a Safety Coordinator in accordance with all company policies and safety laws and regulations.
  • Promotes and insures all employees and operations are complying with applicable project/site rules & regulations, related company policies & procedures and federal safety regulations.
  • Acts as technical advisor to site personnel and operations requesting safety guidance.
  • Conducts dialy site safety compliance audits by evaluating workplace safety, performing site hazards analysis, and determining employee exposure.
  • Reports findings and makes recommendations to the Site Manager or Lead management representatives and ensure proper follow-up action. Documentation to EHS Manager.
  • Conduct inspections of fall arrest equipment, electrical cords and powered tools in accordance with quarterly verification procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all customer, state, and federal laws pertaining to safety and hazardous chemical disposal and storage methods.
  • Conduct safety training in conjunction with US EHS Manager. Including site New Hire Orientations and contractor safety briefings.
  • Collects, evaluates and distributes pertinent safety information to improve Field Service site safety.
  • Maintains all site required documentation related to safety issues, i.e. accident reports, OSHA postings,etc.
  • Ensures all accidents are properly investigated, forms are submitted as required and accident investigation reports and associated bills are submitted to Human Resources as required.
  • Keeps informed of all applicable federal and state related requirements and provides advance notice of any potential impact to the Field Service Operation.
  • Attend customer meetings as required, including preconstruction conference.
  • Enforce accepted APPS and AHA’s.
  • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
  • Ensures all accidents are properly investigated, forms are submitted as required and accident investigation reports and associated bills are submitted to Human Resources as required.
  • Participates as the facility’s primary contact and will include EHS Manager for US Sites during OSHA inspections and report inspection results to management.
  • Conduct and document monthly inspections of fire extinguisher, First Aid stations, and eye wash station.
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change job duties at any time including intermittent administrative functions.
  • Overtime is required depending on site needs. Average work week 50 hours.
