Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- As a member of the engineering staff, the electrical engineer is responsible for the engineering of all aspects of the electrical portion of new and retrofit projects to support various clients in the oil & gas industry.
- This includes conceptual design, load studies/calculations, voltage drop calculations, equipment specification, one-line diagram development interfacing with utility providers and P&ID’s, area class analysis, grounding of electrical systems, underground duct bank systems, power wiring design, heat trace calculations, and contributing to the development of detailed design packages.
- Creates one-line diagrams, grounding, lighting, MCC layouts, motor schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Performs and coordinates area class analysis, voltage drop calculations, load analysis, and arc flash studies.
- Writes scope of work documents.
- Participates in field walk-downs and startups.
- Reviews and approves vendor equipment drawings.
- Adheres strictly to client and company standards in all designs.
- Interfaces directly with clients and vendors.
- Provides technical support for developing proposals.
- B.S. in electrical engineering. P.E. required.
- Minimum ten years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
- Proficient with NEC and IEC code.
- Medium Voltage experience required.
- Field experience and willingness to travel also required.
- Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
