Engineer Director

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Lead and motivate the engineering teams of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
  • Manage the teams to research and analyze data to determine feasibility of design or application to drive the in-house designs to meet procurement and construction schedules.
  • Use data to ensure that the design is completed to the requirements of the contract as well as local and national standards.
  • Broad experience in design software.
  • Manage CAD specialists to ensure drawings are consistent with industry practices, and are produced to meet schedules for material procurement and construction.
  • Produce the most efficient, cost effective designs to be used in the United States and other countries.
  • Analyze complex product design issues to resolve construction and warranty issues.
  • Conduct design review meetings with internal staff.
  • Conduct design reviews with owners’ engineers for design approval.
  • Design environmentally conscious, safe projects in accordance with all applicable standards.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
  • Aid the development process by designing projects that are cost efficient, manufacturable and reliable.
  • Assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
  • Minimum 10-15 yrs of proven utility or industrial experience that includes a proven track record of managing engineering teams producing designs and the ability to resolve design issues for large capital-industrial construction projects.
  • Needs expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the Client and will be instrumental in delivering on time cost effective projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction related areas such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • A Masters degree and a professional certification are preferred.
