Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- PE with at least 10 years of experience in coal and gas fired power projects.
- Expertise in power plant design, power plant operations, maintenance, and field construction for new and existing facilities.
- Proficiency at providing technical support to projects in all phases including: conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction and commissioning.
- Thermal design, fluid flow analysis and equipment specification.
- Experienced at developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), material balances, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), heat balance, conditions of service for equipment, and equipment specifications.
- Technical equipment and process expertise in boilers, pumps, condensers, cooling towers, rotating equipment, turbines, HRSG, material handling, water treatment, valves, Air Quality Control Systems, and heat exchangers.
- Thermal cycle modeling and performance software experience.
- Bid evaluations and reviewing equipment specifications.
- Experience in EPC environments.
- Experience with Gate Cycle ™ preferred.
The day to day duties involve functioning in the capacity as a lead engineer include; performing a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects. Providing technical support to projects in all phases of work from investigation through construction and commissioning. Independently evaluating, selecting, using and maintaining compliance to standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for technical projects. Performing detailed technical analysis of complex project issues and breaking complex technical tasks into manageable subtasks for execution by junior personnel. Establishing scope, schedules and cost controls consistent with your discipline and compatible with client objectives. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Education: Four year degree or higher
